Blohm+Voss Expands Worldwide Sales Team
Hamburg, February 2016 – In June 2015, Fred van Beers (CEO, Blohm+Voss) and Star Capital Partners jointly released details of an aggressive new investment plan, designed to ensure that Blohm+Voss is fully optimised and efficient in meeting the needs of the diverse marine markets in which the company operates. The key developments included the development of a dedicated superyacht division, further investment in the BV80 project, the introduction of a superyacht lifecycle management program as well as expansion of the sales team.
Fred van Beers today stated, “We have already made significant progress in all of these areas. In particular, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Joris Neven as Director of Sales, Mega Yachts from 1st February.”
Joris is a Belgian citizen and former seagoing deck officer in the merchant navy. With over 20 years’ experience in the shipbuilding industry, he has held senior positions with Damen Shipyards, Chantier Piriou and Royal IHC.
In addition to this, the company is in the process of establishing a permanent base in Monaco, the hub of superyacht activity in the Mediterranean, where Patrick Coote will oversee operations as Managing Director, working jointly with Joris Neven in Hamburg to facilitate future growth.
Blohm+Voss also has its sights set further afield, with plans to open offices in the Americas and the Middle East. As well as handling the sales of new construction projects, the team will oversee the sale of refit services and life cycle support services. Several new positions will become available as the recruitment drive continues. “We have solid expansion plans and we are actively seeking qualified candidates with outstanding sales and marketing skills to ensure the optimum levels of staff and expertise for the superyacht sector and to facilitate future growth” added Fred van Beers.
We look forward to seeing you at the Superyacht Design Symposium in Kitzbühel from 21 up to 23 February 2016 and welcoming you at the Blohm+Voss Ski Cup.
